At first glance you notice the quilts throughout this collection but then they become something more, a kind of textile that's clearly been loved for generations. But look closer, and the quilt is the entire world: a tent, a hideaway, a safety, a sun-warmed cocoon perfect for napping.

 

Kirksey's eye is a gift, she doesn't just paint quilts, she has painted the feeling of what quilts mean and represent. Her loose, confident brushwork and sun-bleached palette pull you straight into a memory of warmth and love.
