We're back this week with a new release arriving from Columbia, South Carolina based artist, Shana Wanco!

 

Confess: your last plant didn't make it and neither did the one before it! Good news, because this collection is the garden you can't kill. Some of us were born with a green thumb but Shana prefers a paintbrush. This collection is for anyone whose houseplants have staged a dramatic exit, because these painted beauties will never wilt and will never need any watering! Each hand-painted botanical was created using gouache, Shana's favorite. These folk-inspired, block-printed style details, from striped leaves and scalloped petals to tiny painted veins—giving every piece the charm of an heirloom garden.

Today's lovely release is arriving from Alexandria, Virginia based artist, Jennifer Allevato!

 

Each of these small-scale oil pastel landscapes is a love letter to Monet's garden, filtered through a bold, contemporary eye. Rather than the soft, hazy palette we expect from Giverny, Jennifer starts with deeply colored papers, allowing them to glow through the oil pastels as part of the composition. Blossoming cherry trees, pale yellow tulips, cypress spires, iris beds, rose-arbor walkways and mirrored water lilies are created from dense, tactile marks. The hand-drawn borders give them a vintage postcard look.
