The artist states, “For me there is just something about being outside. The light, the air, the ground beneath my feet, the views are all incredibly calming and reassuring. Landscapes and nature scenes seem to imprint themselves deep in my soul. As an artist, I continually draw from those imprints, creating scenes that invite and evoke peace and calm. I paint with the colors that are easy and soft and paint with intuition, hoping to portray a view or landscape that lights up your heart or speaks to your desire for calm. By contrast, my technique is fast. I lean heavily on my ability to blend the paint on the canvas or paper. This is why acrylic paint and watercolor are best suited to my style—I am less inclined to wait for paint like oils to dry. I use deliberate strokes and color to add texture and contrast. I am a notorious brush abuser, but I like to call them well loved."
