'This collection of colorful cut paper busts was largely inspired by children’s toys: tangrams, paper dolls and puzzles as well as Matisse’s cutouts and iconic images of female royalty. Piecing each figure together, I very much found myself getting lost at play. Turning a shape on its side, painting and scalloping a shock of fuschia hair, tilting a crown just so. The result is both regal and spirited, intentional and organic and cut through with a dash of whimsy.'
