The frames become an important part of the collection, reflecting a desire to care for and protect what feels most meaningful. In a culture that often urges us toward constant motion, "The Things We Keep" is an invitation to slow down and notice. It is a reflection on the ordinary beauties that fill our days, the tenderness of watching a family grow and change, and the human longing to hold close what time inevitably carries forward.

Choose ‘Pick Up’ option at checkout if you are local and wish to pick up at Cottage Grove to avoid shipping costs.

["Affordable Art","Floral","Floral Abstract","Greenville","Greenville Art Gallery","Greenville SC art gallery","Online Art Gallery","paper","the campbell collective
"option1":"Default Title","option2":null,"option3":null
["Default Title
["//campbellcollective.co/cdn/shop/files/IMG_8456-edited.jpg?v=1785336131
//campbellcollective.co/cdn/shop/files/IMG_8456-edited.jpg?v=1785336131
Title

Skye Miller

The Things We Keep

5" x 7" mixed media on paper, framed 9" x 11"

The Things We Keep is a collection of mixed media botanical works created as an exploration of attention, memory, and the quiet beauty woven into everyday life. I created this collection during a season when my three children were closing out another wonderful school year.

I'd wake before the sun to feed and prep them for their day, and once they were delivered safely to school, I'd turn to my creative work. The silence stretched for hours as I painted and contemplated how quickly life changes and the deep desire to hold onto as much of the present as I can. Kids grow in ways that feel almost imperceptible day to day, but comparing photos from the start of a school year to the end reveals staggering growth.

I wanted to capture that same emotion of holding onto time with flowers. A bloom appears, reaches its fullness, and fades before we are ready to see it go from our garden. These works emerged from a desire to pay attention to those fleeting moments and honor the beauty in change.

Each work is custom framed by hand, extending the act of preservation beyond the painted surface itself.
