"During the spring, my husband and I traveled through France for a little over two weeks. Once we reached the South of France, there was this magnificent star jasmine everywhere. It was stunning in full bloom with its intoxicating fragrance filling the air like an exquisite French perfumery. Upon my return home, I was welcomed back by the very same star jasmine. I smiled to myself as I thought about how those blooming vines have united two landscapes that I feel so connected to, yet are so far away.

This collections an ode to this botanical beauty. Just as its vines grow intertwining the fabric of two cultures, it symbolizes the love and connection I have to both the South of France, and my home in South Carolina. The splashes of color embody the sensational fragrance of these tiny blooms, while the drips are likened to the curiosities within nature. My intent is to simplify my work—to explore the unexpected and maintain the focus on the mark making while incorporating texture by utilizing mixed-media."
